Service Description

Join us for four sessions to introduce you to Blackfoot Language. Siksikáí'powahsin (commonly referred to as the Blackfoot language) is an Algonquian language spoken by four Blackfoot nations: the Siksiká (Blackfoot), Aapátohsipikani (North Piikani), Aamsskáápipikani (South Piikani) and Kainai (Blood). Blackfoot is one of the two most commonly spoken Aboriginal languages in Alberta. Within this language is a unique worldview. Blackfoot language and culture is about connections and relationships, tied to the belief that everything is interconnected.
